I've been working at a computer my entire life and my wrist has a constant dull ache to it. If I immobilize my hand and arm while I sleep, I noticed that the dull ache is gone when I wake up. So, I started wearing this. It keeps my fingers and wrist locked in while I sleep. It's comfortable enough, but I would recommend wrapping your arm in something to reduce chafing. It's easy to velcro your arm and hand right into.

My husband's hands were so curled that he could not wear it. Also, there were so many velcro straps and he could not manage those with his curled hands. Older people have to go to the bathroom when they feel the urge and undoing all those straps did not work

After having another stroke, my spouse has had issues with hand spasticity, causing his fingers to curl inward, essentially making a fist perpetually. This isnt helpful for recovery and can cause other issues long term if not treated. This brace has been a lifesaver for us, eliminating the need for another person to be present at all times, to help assist in straightening and stretching his hand. A simple device, the brace is easy to put on, though it can be challenging for the wearer if they only have use of one hand. Once in place, the brace is comfortable for long-term wear. I like that the brace is a one-size-fits-all sizing but in fact, it doesnt quite fit all. My spouse doesnt have large hands in general, nor long fingers. We are able to make it work by sliding the hand up as far as it will go and with proper tightening of the straps, its doable - but the loops to place the fingers in seem to fit best those with long fingers. I like that the material can be removed and washed to maintain hygiene and the flexible metal insert can be adjusted as desired. Overall, this has been a super useful product during my spouses stroke recovery. I find it to be a good value, considering you can use on either hand, and could be used by other family members as well.

It works, but the thumb strap is at the tip of his thumb so it slips out easily. Otherwise a good buy that serves it's purpose. Sturdy and soft

At rest my MCP joints lock down and the result is that when I want to get active it feels like I'm having to break them free. Its hard to describe but simple to avoid. I just have to keep the hand flat. Except as simple as that sounds its not always easily accomplished particularly during sleep where my fingers want to fold in on their own. This device does exactly what it claims to do; it keep the fingers straightened out. There's really not a lot more I can tell you about it except for that it took a few tries to find the best spot to put my hand when sleeping and to just get comfortable with having something on the hand in general. As far as the brand goes Vive is great. I have many Vive products from scales to bandages to wrist straps. Some of them have seen regular use for over 2 years now and are still holding up.
