Easy to play

This is an easy game to play for your whole family but it probably has a limited shelf life overall. I found it to be confusing at first and in the description but once we played it was simple. Maybe too simple for older kids or adults. That said, I do think its good for a simple game and its portable, being small.

Letter/Word Match Game

Great for associating letters with the pictures of the images. My daughter likes to play and is able to match the letters fairly easy. I think the instructions could be clearer but once you begin to play and catch on to the concept it's a pretty good learning game.

Learning tool

It's a game but you can also use it as a learning tool. Letter association my soon loves it. Yes 5 and yes can easily match the letter with the item

He caught on quick

It took me a moment to understand the directions, but once opening the deck, I could visualize what they were trying to say. (Essentially you are always playing off of the face down deck). My son caught on very quick and had a lot of fun playing this game. he got faster as the game went on and Im sure that we will play this again soon. The only improvement that I could see would be if there would be a case or pouch to keep the cards together. I only say that because my delivery occurred on a day with substantial rain, so the box that the cards came in was completely destroyed and I could not reuse that.

Here is 4.5 year old playing plus our alternate instructions idea.

The media could not be loaded. If you look at the photo - the only letter that matches is the blue and per the instructions for level one, we're supposed to "ignore" the blue letter and no link is supposed to be considered which doesn't really make sense because the goal of the game is creating the links. Then with the advance play, it's just using all 3 letters to try and find 2 matches (no perk of the colors used). My 4 year old has no issues looking for 3 letters, it just seems like an unnecessary rule especially since this is for age 6+. We like the cards, they're good quality, there is a fairly good amount of choices without being out there with the choices. We're simply not going to follow the given instructions. We'll probably add some perk to the blue letter like it can steal the winning card if a link can be made within 3 seconds of the winning link (ex: someone matches a red and starts the 1-2-3 count but before they finish the count - someone steals by creating a link with the blue letter). For the beginner level, we're adding a 30 second timer (room to hold it in box) so each round has a max time. The advanced play will be with the ability to steal. Overall - 4.5 y/o loves the game and sounding out the words and matching the first letter. Loses are star on the instructions.
