This kit is not for children or beginners. I finished it only because I have done needlework for years and was able to figure the stitches from the picture. DO NOT depend on the instructions, they were not well written. The thread provided was cheap and knotted constantly, it also came in one continuous piece and must be cut into useable lengths. It looks nice done but took some work.

I liked the image of the design. In real life I was disappointed with the floss (bundled by sticky tape and tricky to separate) the needle (too large to allow easy pulling of the floss through the holes). Even using three strands with both ends threaded into the needle so that there were only six rather than 12 strands passing through a hole at one time I managed to crack the tip of the beak while stitching on the belly of the hummer. In case it may be useful to others, I found that using a size 24 tapestry needle and threading both ends of three strands of floss made the stitching easier.

I threw this in the trash because I was so aggravated with all the knots. I've been embrodering/crafting for many many years, I know little tips and tricks to keep the knots at bay BUT every color had a knot before I even got the plastic off each color section. The thread is of such poor quality that it knots every time you you pull your thread through a hole. WAY past aggravated - I've never thrown a craft away before but today I did. Just beware!!!!
