This cute puzzle has the same features & issues as pretty much all wooden puzzles--special cut-out pieces, requires good manual dexterity, etc. I've never seen pieces this large in a wooden puzzle, so it may be better for folks with hand limitations. Each piece is unique, one-sixth size poster enclosed, sturdy cardboard box. Pieces are somewhat loosely connected until the puzzle is complete, which can be aggravating during construction. Intermediate level of difficulty*. *Puzzle box lists level of difficulty as "Expert," but don't believe it.

The puzzle itself looks to be of really good quality. Unfortunately it absolutely reeks. The package arrived smelling like someone spilled sandalwood perfume on it to the point that my mailbox and other mail picked up the smell strongly. I opened it outside as myself and other members of my household are asthmatic. The puzzle pieces smell strongly of a chemical mixed with rotting. I have everything sitting outside now with the hope that letting everything air out will help.

This puzzle is a disappointment because there was a piece missing and a broken piece. It is terribly cut too; the edge pieces don't all interconnect but rather butt up against each other making it VERY annoying because the side keep slipping. The picture is cute and there are fun shapes.

My kids and I worked on this puzzle for about a day off and on. It is a more challenging puzzle than my kids have ever done, which I think is really good for them. I love how you cannot put a piece in the wrong spot as each piece is very unique. My kids loved the animal shaped pieces and once it was together, they played their own game of finding the animal pieces inside the puzzle. I loved how engaging it was for them. They did get a bit frustrated with getting it together at times. You would think that with how unique the pieces are that it would fairly easy to find the piece that you need, but its not. Overall its a cute puzzle. I like how sturdy it is being made out of wood and the graphic is on the pieces very well, making this a puzzle that will be around for a long time.

Just a note, this is an EXPERT rated puzzle. The box they come in is nice, with the image on the front. The pieces are irregular, they are not standard puzzle shape which makes this complicated to piece together. The pieces are THICK which I personally lick as it makes them easy to pick up and the edges are clean. They come in a nice draw string bag inside the box which decreases your odds of losing the pieces. I will say there was a strong smell when I opened the box, but considering these are real wood with a painted coating, I'm not surprised. I think the smell will fade with a bit of air exposure.
