Assembly with adult guidance is quite easy. With someone to sand down the edges and wood helped the process and coloring the panels helped too! But our car did not work, so we could only look at it.

I purchased this product for my 5 yr. old granddaughter. She loves science projects and cool toys. She loved painting the parts on the car. My son was putting it together and one of the wheels gave him a hard time slipping onto the plastic pin and ended up cracking. I contacted the seller and explained this requesting a new wheel. Seller responded right away...loved that...and after requesting additional info responded that they have sent a replacement car. This is the kind of seller that I like to deal with! Great customer service. I would definitely purchase from them again! In the meantime, since this is a solar car, we held it up to a light, and the back wheels started spinning. We all thought that was so cool. Can't wait for the replacement to see what it does outside!

Clear Instructions; Perfect for an 11 yr old; Lots of Fun!

I bought this for an activity with my 14 year old niece (she enjoys robotics and related activities) and she loved it! She actually thought it was very easy, but my other niece (11) ended up participating too and it seemed to be the perfect "difficulty" for her. I ended up stepping back and allowed the 14 year old to help the 11 year old; they seemed to have a great time! They were thrilled to take it outside and watch it go - even the adults were amused (the dog not so much lol) and the smaller children/babies were fascinated. We plan on painting it when I see them again in a couple weeks :) I've never been really mechanically-minded so I was a little concerned about being able to understand it, but the directions are very clear and you don't feel overwhelmed with the number of parts. The pieces are easy to pop out of the wood and, although none splintered, I do like how a small piece of sandpaper is included just in case! You do have to be careful when you put the body (bottom and sides) of the car together, since they can easily pop out if you don't get it just right. Now that the mechanical part is over, I'm really excited to move on to the painting! (My personal favorite part of any project). Overall, I loved this and plan to purchase similar STEM gifts or future family get-togethers or for the kids' birthdays.
