When this binder arrived it was so different from traditional three ring binders I didn't think I would like it. I gave it a chance and seriously, love this style. I am now a binder convert. It is a bit strange to see the rings through the cover but this makes it much flatter and more compact. If you are a student that has to carry multiple binders around to classes, this will seriously save you room in your book bag. I love that the cover folds over flat underneath of the binder giving you a nice flat surface to write without even having to take paper out of the binder. I added one package of loose leaf paper and it would likely fit another full one so the capacity is large. This binder is a space saver, well made and super useful so if you are in the market for something that is just better than the traditional cardboard ones, give this a try.

We got a set of these to house some workbooks for my son. The cover flips to the back allowing for less space to be taken up by the binder. In this regard, it works well. The sleeve on the front easily holds a cover sheet or something to denote what is inside the binder. We had no issues with the rings opening/closing. The biggest "con" here is that the rings stick out of the front of the binder, making it impossible to stack them nicely. They also catch on stuff because the rings are exposed. They also warp a bit as the telescoping part is stiff and doesn't quite match up to the height of whatever is inside. Takeaway is that they are great if you need the cover to flip back but other than that, a regular binder would suffice.

We homeschool and are moving to a binder for all our work for ease and flexibility. I saw these binders and thought they looked like they would be much easier to actually write in and use while doing school (versus just storing completed work). I really love them. They hold plenty of pages with a flexible spine that expands and a cover that folds completely over. I'm excited to see how they hold up this school year but so far so good!

Let me just get the obvious out of the way: These are not pretty binders. They are AWESOME, but these are not the looks that make my stationery-heart go pitter pat. That said? The telescoping spine and the holes in the cover that allow the empty parts of the rings to pass through? I don't know who invented this design but I love them. I want to make them a huge batch of candy and send it to their house. Why have I never seen them before? I'm a writer, I carry multiple binders with me when I'm working. That means my bag gets cramped fast. These save so much room that I can fit three of them, half-full, WITH MY LAPTOP... into my laptop bag, along with the pens and phone and wallet and chaptstick and whatever else I carry in my bag just because I have to have it. Inhaler... Whatever. All that stuff fits. It's heavy, lol, but it fits. I can lug it to the coffee shop and not need to be constantly flipping between back and forth in one 3" binder to get at whatever research I need while writing. If they could make them cuter? Every planner person out there would be beating the door down. Seriously, guys. Do this with a linen binder. Metal fittings on the slots on the top where the rings come out. Keep the rings that are flat on one side, they're awesome. Maybe add a band to keep it all shut. Take my money time! 5 stars. I don't care if they are kinda ugly... they're beautiful to me :)

I have numerous binders and they take up a lot of space, so I was eager to give these a try. The binders are as described on their product page. They are very flexible and have a clear pocket on the cover to store a few sheets of paper in or put a coverpage. Take note that the binder material is not sturdy like a traditional 3 ring binder. The binders expand to over an inch to accommodate as many or as few sheets of paper as you need to place in them. My favorite feature is that the binders are wide enough to allow me to place sticky tabs along the outer edge of my papers without the tabs sticking out beyond the binder margins, keeping them covered and protected. There are holes in the back cover (not sure what purpose they serve) so if you accidentally lay the binder on a wet surface, your papers near the back will probably get a little wet. The binder rings must be manually opened by prying them apart with your fingers there is no mechanism to slide or bend that will make the rings spring open which is probably not a big deal unless you stuff the binder beyond its capacity. At their current price they end up being approximately $6 per binder after tax, which is overpriced in my opinion for 1 inch binders, but if this is not an issue for you then I would recommend purchasing them if you're in need of a set of four 3 ring binders that will only take up a fraction of the space that traditional binders do.
