The rule book is extremely vague and I had to make some crap up mid game before but its fun.

Really let down with this purchase. Game does not play well at all. I wanted this to be a good game but it just isn't. Not fun at all. Too much is required here for just a card game. Love zombie stuff so took the plunge and bought it. Don't do it. You will see the flaw in the gameplay and quit. Good art.

This is a fun and easy game to learn. We love zombies in my family so this has been fun to play. Even my 13 year old likes it.

Very fun game with cooperative play or go for the jugular styles to be played. Nice art and theme. Fast paced and fun. Only gripe is that the rulebook is messy and vague which leads to a lot of searching and judgment calls. Would recommend it.

We like and play a lot of board and card games, and try out a lot of new ones. Some of them are really just not very good, but this one manages to bring a bit of a different (and quick) take on zombie survival than anything else I've played, while managing to be engaging. It's not a deeply strategic affair, and that's really it's strength -- that you can quickly teach it, and knock out a game, without needing any setup to speak of or lengthy explanations. Most of the information you need is pretty clearly presented on the cards, which I appreciate for not having long walls of text. There are elements of coop in here, but it's really mostly an every-man-for-himself situation -- you shunt zombies to other players not because it's a good group tactical move, but rather just to get them off you. You're unabashedly playing to get the highest score while escaping and/or being the sole survivor. Thematically it does work well, with the different types of zombies presenting different requirements to dispatch (i.e. the soldier zombie with a helmet can't be headshot, etc.). There are some fun variants of zombies, a la Left 4 Dead. I like that when a player gets taken out, they flip their card over and become a zombie themselves. And if someone else dispatches the player-zombie, they get all their stuff. Again, very thematic -- not necessarily extraordinarily balanced, but that's not what this game is about. You get in there and blow up zombies and shunt them around and try to get the heck out of dodge, and it feels nice to do it, while if you don't pull it off, it was likely just bad luck. These are not cutesy Plants vs Zombies zombies -- you're probably not going to want to play this with very young children, or anyone too disturbed by creepy decomposing zombies. This is of course also a strength of the game, for people who are into such horrors.
