Very responsive and noticeable indicator. I tested alot of product vs another test kit and this was easy to use. Noticeable when it turned color and quick too.

These lead test swabs are easy to use and really alerted me to a lot of lead exposure in the house that is easy to get rid of with minimal fuss. Highly recommend these, especially if you have kids, but even if its just adults. Lead exposure is cumulative and we can all do with less of it, protect yourself.

The swabs are super easy to use. The only thing you need to do is to wet them a little bit and then rub them on the chosen item. I bought these swabs to test jewelry, and luckily, only some necklaces came back positive for lead. I definitely recommend these to everyone who wants to check whether something they own contains lead.

I collect vintage teaware and dishes, and recently learned through Instagram and TikTok that a lot of these items can contain lead in the paint. I wanted a quick and easy way to test my dishware to remove the ones with lead. The most difficult part of using these is waiting for the swab to turn mustard yellow. Some turned yellow faster than others. Also some items had such small lead presentation that the swab only turned a darker shade of orange rather than magenta. Aside from that they worked very well. I would also reuse the negative tested swabs until they turned pink. Probably not how they're intended to be used but one swab per item gets expensive. I imagine this can also be a fun activity to do with children to teach them about science and safety.

I ordered these to test some vintage china that I got at estate sales. I tested each piece 2+ times because I know these tests can sometimes have false readings. Once I found one that definitely had lead in the paint, I used that as my control. If another item tested negative, I would then use the same swab on the one I knew was positive to make sure it wasn't just a dud swab. When lead was present, there was a clear and pretty quick color change. The only thing that was a bit confusing is that the residue sometimes would change color I think just from being diluted and exposed to air long enough. Ex) when I rinsed out the inside of cups after testing, the water would turn a slight pink after a certain amount of water was added. I thoroughly tested the inside of all the cups, so I am pretty sure this was not them testing positive and just a reaction to dilution/long term air exposure.
