These were perfect magnets for our recent cruise. Strong enough to hold things without sliding down the wall. Went thru airport security with no problem. Took up almost no room in luggage. Our only problem was....two magnets stuck together and they are so strong it took two of us to separate them. These were just what we needed!
I can't believe I haven't bought these before. I've been cruising for 20+ years and am always frustrated with the lack of space in the cabins on board cruise ships. These magnets are so handy. I used them on our Christmas cruise for the first time. My husband gave a me the look when I took showed them to him - like, why did buy these?? And then I popped them on the walls of the cabin and started hanging our hats, googles, lanyards, beach towels, etc., on them and he changed his tune. He actually packed them in his suitcase when we got off the cruise to make sure I didn't leave them behind. These are a winner. They are just so handy for taking the little things off the surfaces, which are so sparse, and freeing up clutter. Definitely a winner in my books. They are durable, hold a decent amount of weight - like a wet towel - and are easy to pack.
We used these on a cruise and they worked perfectly. We use them to hold jackets, or sweaters. Lesser load rated magnets dont hold as well and slip, but these hold well for average to light jackets and clothing.
These magnets arrived and I was happy about how tiny the package was, great for travels. Bring me, I began to thread the hooks in. This was time consuming. The female thread quality seemed to be coarse with some holes not working well at all. I am always careful to line the threads up so I dont cross thread them. I had to set aside pieces that didnt want to thread together well and put together what I could. In the end I got them all in, but it took a lot of getting them as tight as I could, setting them down and coming back to try again. The metal is very sturdy, nothing bent. Ive got a grip strength of about 120-140lbs. Second when I put the magnets to the test on the refrigerator, they couldnt hold the drill pictured, the magnet slid down to the floor, but it never let go of the refrigerator. So I tried again on smooth metal, the microwave. Again the magnet slid down the side, but when it got to the bottom and was hanging as from a ceiling, it held very well and stayed. So what Im getting at is, yes it holds very well, but if you have a compatible heavy object youll have to figure out how to keep it from sliding down if you intend to hang it on a wall. Overall were going to give it a try on our cruise. I would prefer the threads to work better so I could return them to the smaller packaging for travel. I probably cant unthread them. The magnet definitely works best if hung from a ceiling or with a block of sorts to stop it from sliding down the wall with heavier objects
