I got a portable AC unit from ZeeBooth that needs to be vented out a window or a hole cut through the wall. I rent, so a hole in the wall was out of the question as my landlord would not be happy about having a permanent hole for a portable AC unit. The sealant tape that was provided by the AC manufacturer was a thin tape about 2 inches in width without much sticky-ness and wasn't long enough or wide enough to seal the plastic vent piece that attaches to the window. At first I tried to cut the waterproof tape with a box cutter but that didn't work too well so I used the cheap sheer sissor from Harbor Freight tools and that worked like a charm. The tape is really gummy and it does seal airtight and watertight well. I used two strips to cover the 5 inch width of the plastic window vent for the AC unit. It was easy to apply you just need to start one corner by peeling the backing and press the tape to the surface you want to apply it and then slowly peel away the backing as you press down. If the tape gets stuck to itself you'll probably need to cut another strip as the adhesive bunches together real quick. I like that it has the aluminum foil backing as that helps to insulate where you apply the tape.
