These are really a great way to keep your tent secured down that you wont have to pull on strings that get in the way. These are a much better way to keep the tent secured and you can these out in all weather if a rain shower come along this will keep you under the tent. When done these store away easily.

All 4 bags ripped. After attaching the Velcro straps to the tent, they ripped off of the bag opening the seem and all the sand poured out. I had all the Velcro straps connected to the tent polls and they ripped completely away.

I was not sure about these weight bags when I first ordered them but since having experienced how to use these bags I have to say they are brilliant. They contain 2 pockets that you can fill with stones or sand, the 2 pockets are stitched together with velcro straps to wrap the bags around the legs of a tent or canopy. The tops of each pocket is sealed with a stitched velcro strap, which you can leave a little bit open, to let the water drip into the pockets filled with sand, which make them heavier which will help to hold the canopy down in the event of strong gust of wind. The bags look nicely made, with heavy duty stitching and the material the weight bags are made of is some kind of waterproof canvas it looks like. These weight bags are very easy to handle when empty, and when they are filed with material they are heavy, so watch your back and lift with your knees or get someone else to help you handle these weight bags when they are filled. I can rest easier knowing these weight bags are attached to the legs of my canopy and helping keep it sitting securely on my deck.

A lot of other sand bags like these have two pouches, so they sort of sit around the posts. These are a single pouch. This might be preferable if you want it to be lower profile, don't need it to be as heavy, or don't want to carry the double ones (they can get really heavy when full). This is more generously sized than others, though. It's coated on the inside and looks very sturdy and well put together. It has the same weakness they all do: the velcro tabs that hold it on to the pole are sewn in to the seam. The tabs are where it'll take all the pulling, so if the tab rips out, it might also open the seam. However, I don't think this is any worse than all the other ones out there in this way. It does seem well sewn, and not prone to pulling out at all. Some people still line these with a plastic bag, just in case it gets a hole, but these sand bags don't look likely to tear, and the coating on the inside would prevent the same from running out, even in the rain.
