After a lot of struggles trying to find heavy duty Pyrex beakers in the sizes I needed, I finally succeeded. This one was listed as a 400 ml, however the measurement markings only go up to 325 ml. So be aware of ordering a slightly larger size if the full 400 ml measurement markings are important to you. I was happy to find that these beakers were made in Germany, which another reviewer had stated makes the very best quality Pyrex beakers. Not sure if this is true, but if it is, "Made in Germany" is printed right under the word Pyrex on the side of the beaker. It is a thrill to use this beaker and not need to worry about it breaking easily like some inexpensive, paper-thin types.

So my doc tells me I need fiber. Alright. But its annoying measuring water, transferring the measuring cup water to another cup, and only then to mix up my orange gut draino. After looking for a regular glass cup that happens to have measuring marks (distinct from a measuring cup) - of which I never found any large enough (the Anchor "three-spout" measuring cup came close, but is only 8oz) or quality enough (the only other one I found was a mug styled after a beaker that looked sketchy). So, I figure, alright. I'll just get an actual beaker. So yes, I spent $15 for a cup for taking my fiber. $15 well spent. I measure out ~225ml (close enough to 8oz), two heaping scoops of psyllium fecal extrusion powder, with more than enough headroom to vigorously stir without any of it flying out. Drink. Rinse (throughoughly), repeat two more times a day. Clean with soap after the third intestinal scraper of the day has been ingested. I didn't like that it was shipped in a paper bag with only bubble wrap, but it's the correct 1003 model, it wasn't broken, and I was going to wash it before using anyway because you should do that with everything touching your food.

The 1003 (400ml) is made of thick glass and it's the perfect size to press the Aeropress with confidence. It feels very nice to sip from it. Highly recommend. This is the second one I buy after the first one cracked in the bottom because I dropped a heavy ice cube on it. I had done it hundreds of times before but it hitted differently. Now I drop ice cubes at an angle to avoid.

I bought this 400mL beaker to use as a drinking glass, specifically to give an experimental feel to my mixed drinks. It fits a 2 inch cube well with plenty of space for a strong double drink. Can also fit a 12oz beverage without the cube. The glass is thicker and has a rounded lip that is comfortable to drink from, just avoid the spout. However, unlike a normal drinking glass, the bottom is not thick, so I am gentle when placing ice cubes, mostly because the sound of the cubes hitting the bottom is not pleasant. A plus is that this glass is resistant to temperature shock. I have not used it to make coffee with a AeroPress but I have confirmed the filter holder will fit.
