Either of these work well in this device to aid in the removal of grunge build-up. The directions are a bit confusing; however, they do make for interesting reading. This machine has a long life battery and includes a charging cable. After a full charge, it is ready to go it alone on its battery, and this eliminates the need for a dangling cord or the hunt for an electrical outlet. The charge will last quite awhile before it needs a renewal of energy and the necessity to be charged again. Charging time takes 2-4 hours. Now, in the item description, it states not to let machine run longer than thirty (30) minutes; however, in the printed instructions, it states usage should be limited to no more than fifteen (15) minutes at a time in order to avoid the machine over-heating. It has three cleaning modes. If you are brave you can clean your eye glasses or your hair combs in this mode. Now in the next mode, you can clean rings to childrens toys, and in mode three..let er rip! Here you can clean hair brushes, office supplies, toothbrush (not my toothbrush!) etc. Seriously, you can clean numerous things in this machine, but a bit of realism might need to be used. Oh yes, it has suction feet on the bottom to keep it from walking. All in all, this is a pretty good whiz-bang machine, and it does a very good job on cleaning jewelry.

I've not really used a sonic cleaner before, but I have seen several different videos on them. I think for the most part, the type of cleaner that you use in them does most of the work when it comes to cleaning. It does vibrate, it's not super quiet. With water and a little mild detergent I saw no difference in the items I tried out in them. I'm sure if I had used a stronger cleaner I probably would have noticed the items getting cleaner. Overall, I'm not very impressed with this and I don't think it's going to be used much in my home at all. If I try it with a heavier cleaner and get different results, I will edit this review.
