Watex Garden Bed Soaker Hose Watering Kit...

Great starter kit for soaking gardens. Installed this in a raised bed garden and it has performed very well. The hose is of sufficient construction, though I have seen higher quality material used before - this one performs just find though. I really like the clear water filter that is included....living at the end of the county's water line means we get all the gunk, and this really helps - very easy to clean out.

I have pretty large garden beds and they are watered with drip and soaker hose irrigation systems. They work very well. I thought I would try this smaller tubing irrigation system in my garden that doesn't yet have irrigation, to see if it fits my needs. It is very easy to install, and it has everything needed from the hose to the soil. I think for amount of water this smaller irrigation system is best for a very small area, or a garden that has a lot of potted plants - flowers or food. I live in a dryer area, and I found that this system doesn't provide the amount of water flow needed for my raised gardens. I think overall $15.00 is a great value for this setup.

This product is consistent with it's description. I like this little soaker hose for my patch of daylilies beside my driveway (picture). In the past I've had trouble getting consistent water for the entire row. This solved my problem! I used the flow limiter to make sure this was a drip type soaker and not a spray type soaker. I think I'm going to order an automatic water timer for use with the hose so it turns on and waters a couple times a week automatically. Be aware that this hose is SMALL. It's smaller around than my pinky finger (pictured). But it's a good length for watering a row of flowers. It also has a little flow meter built in and a tiny filter. It comes with a little holding hook too, so you can clip the hardware with the flow meter to something so it's not just sitting on the ground.
