Just what I ordered

Used two of the male connectors (PL259), they feel solid but one of the two resulted in an internal connection between the pin and the outer shield. Hoping the rest are OK.

as expected.

I need these female 239s to make 2 much needed common mode chokes. Twelve turns of RG58 around a FT240-43 ferrite toroid core were used for each and they are very effective. One common criticism I saw was that no instructions were included - so here you go. Refer to photos. 1) Place one colar and one piece of shrink tube over your RG58. Push them down out of the way for later. 2) Strip back about 3/4 in of outer insulation being careful to leave the stranded shielding intact. 3) Trim the shielding so only about 3/8 in remains. 4) Trim back inner insulation to ALMOST the stranded shielding you just trimmed. A little inner insulation should remain visible between the exposed shielding and center conductor. 5) Trim back center conductor, leaving about 3/16 in. Tint center conductor lightly. 6) Solder on the the center conductor pin, included. 7) Slide on 239 connector, making sure all stranded shielding remains outside the knurled portion of connector. Firmly seat the 239 connector onto the RG58. 8) Slide on the silver collar (you placed on the cable earlier) over the stranded shielding/knurled portion. 9) Test your connetions with a multimeter to make sure there are no shorts and center conductor tests good all the way to other end of cable. 10) Crimp on colar. Slide shrink tube, placed on cable earlier, over assembled unit and heat. Done. I hope this helps others. All parts (not tools of course) were included and I would recommend.
