Finally got a chance to use this product on my boat restoration project today. Very impressed. Nice concept. great idea. so far so good.

Before I used it on repairing a cord, I tested it out on a piece of scrap wire. I did a pull and bend test and it held up as expected. The solder wetting between the two wires performed well, and didn't need to burn the plastic for it to complete. Very satisfying!

As soon as this product arrived I had already used it three times before writing this review. I love that I don't have to have shrink wrap to mess with. This is very good for wires that are going to be in the elements. The biggest place is under the hood of your car or even underneath of it. This will ensure water does not get into your connection. If you ever worked on your own car you know if one wire becomes disconnected it can leave you stranded on the side of the road. Using this type of connector is just a little bit more security.

These are so cool, I wish I had discovered them long ago. These make splicing wires as simple as it can get. Gone are the days of stripping and soldering two wires and then covering it in heatshrink tubing. This all in one solution is wonderful. You simple strip the ends of the wires and insert them into these little tubes. Then you hit the tube with a lighter until the solder inside melts. What is even nicer is the fact they contain a type of hot glue on each end of the connector that melts and forms a super seriously water tight seal. These are superior to the old way of doing things in every way. These are worth every penny.

These solder seal wire connectors sealed decent, but I thought the solder flow in the one I tried could have been better. I used a considerable amount of heat to shrink the tubing and ensure good solder flow, but after the joint was finished, I could still see evidence of copper wire with no solder present. In the "after heating" photos, you will notice that a band remains around the joined wire area that did not flow. Always heat the center solder part first, then seal the adhesive glue ends. I'll try some more on wire extensions to see if they all have difficulty with a full solder melt.
