I have found the older type wooden snap traps baited with a bit of peanut butter to be the best solution out there for any mouse problem. The only drawback is they can be finicky to set, especially after theyve been sprung many times. I have the same anxiety trying to set one as I would attempting to defuse a bomb. These plastic ones are much easier and less nerve-wracking. Just pull back the wired handle until it locks under the catch and youre ready to go. The best thing about these is when you have to empty the trap, you dont have to touch the mouse or the metal that unalived the mouse at all. A catch is more likely here because the mouse has to lean on the trigger to access the bait. It was hit and miss with the old ones. I havent caught any mice so far with them, but its summer and mice are less likely to come inside when they have plenty of food outside. In my test runs, the trap takes flight every time its triggered because its so light. It would be best to glue it down or secure it in some way to hold it in place. This can make the difference between a catch and just missing a catch. Another thing I noticed is it states in the photos on this page that the bait cup is removable. I have tried and see no way to remove the cup for filling or cleaning so that should be corrected.

The body, bait area, and trigger are made with plastic while the snappy component is strong Stainless Steel. I have previously tried a long list of other types and brands of mousetraps. So far I have liked everything about these ones. The bait area/platform is easy to load. Bait can be placed in the center holder/hole or be smeared into the small holes in the flat bait area. The mousetrap is easy to set on the first try without accidentally triggering it to snap on your own fingers. The trigger mechanism, itself, has been sensitive enough to trigger quickly before the bait is eaten or stolen. The metal Snap mechanism to strong and provides a strong snap that would catch the biggest, fastest mouse. I haven't had these long, but so far the look and feel like they will be a long lasting trap.
