Work Well Enough

These work with the right size bottle and drip good once adjusted. They're made of thick plastic and have held up well to the elements. You can't use your basic bottles of drinking water they're too small.

Spills out, hard to set drip, have to remove from plant to refill

I can't recommend this product for a number of reasons. 1 you have to remove from the plant to refill water which disturbs the soil and makes it more likely to fall over after putting it back in. 2 when you flip the bottle upside down water will spill out. 3 the drip control is hard to set, it doesn't matter which way you turn it it drips either too fast or too slow.

Didn't work

It was very time consuming to attempt to move to little dial to the correct spot, for slow drip. And after my repeated best attempt to do so, stakes did not function properly while we were away and our plants were harmed. Junk

Good

Came on time, as expected, works. It did only hold water for a few hours when used a water bottle and that was on the smallest opening setting.

Not bad but could be better

These watering spikes are a great concept. They work via gravity and they have a screw valve to adjust the flow of water. You fill a bottle with water, stick a watering spike in the mouth of it, and then turn it upside down as you stick the watering spike into the soil. The spike has a little "open air" water reservoir into which the water flows. Adjust the valve to control the flow of water [put it on before you attach the spike to the water bottle]. Sounds easy right -- and it really is, BUT: The watering spike must be near vertical to the soil or water will spill over the edge of the little reservoir and drain the bottle. If the plants are outdoors expect squirrels [and critters unknown] not to respect your new watering arrangement -- the squirrels will drink from the reservoir and then undermine it while they're mining for acorns that they could swear are hidden in the potted plant that you just put outdoors for the first time today -- I know, I saw them do it. I think these are great for indoor plants and will do okay outside -- you just have to expect a little unintentional vandalism from the squirrels from time to time... I found that a pie tin of water set well away from my plants solved part of the problem.
