Commentary: The purpose is to reduce the amount of stooping when cleaning the pool (removing the skimmer basket), and when testing the pool water with your test strips. Depending on how your skimmer basket is set up, it may not be easy to remove the basket using the hooks because with some baskets you have to turn the basket before lifting. However, with some practice you can still do this using the hook. Overall, the hooks do save the amount of bending, stooping, or even resting on your knees to remove the skimmer basket or testing your pool water. Overall: - 4 stars; Great concept!

I never knew a product like this existed! I had my doubts that the hook would be small enough to fit through the opening in the skimmer cover, but it fits perfect! Works great to lift the skimmer basket out. It save me from having to reach through floating bugs to reach the basket handle or from having to stick my hand in super cold water during the winter months! The item is well constructed and I feel will last for many seasons. The shape of the handle is a little odd and I think having a T shaped handle would be much more comfortable and provide more leverage/lift (especially if the pool pump is running and the basket has a lot of suction working against it). I am not the one who maintains the chemicals in the pool (landlord takes care of that) so I have no use for the clips that hold the test strips, therefore I cannot review that part of this set. Overall I am pleased with this item.

These are a thin wire style. Because they are thin, they are hard to hold onto especially around a pool when your hands are wet. The shape is good, and they work, they are just too thin for me to hold onto.

This lifts both the skimmer cover & basket. Is firm & sturdy & easy to hold because of the shape of the handle end. It also came with a clip that slides on to the pull for a test strip. It snaps to itself so that it doesn't slide off the end of the pull. That is a nice feature because now I don't need to get on my knees to test the water. Same for pulling up the skimmer basket. You do still need to bend down but you don't have to get on your knees. It also comes with a zip tie but I just hung it on the fence. Every pool owner should have one. So nice not having to reach into basket to grab handle when there is a spider or bugs in there! Nice that it came as a 2 pack so if it gets lost you already have a back-up.

One of our baskets still has the crossbar and one does not have any handle anymore. These work for both baskets. We didn't even have to use the included zip tie to build a handle since the hooks actually fit through the weave.
