I have owned many types of these, the all corrode and had o-rings that could nt be replaced. These have lasted me years and I bougt extra o-rings at Ace Hardware. No leaks!. Ive used these for four years and they are holding up with the exception of the o-rings, which is perfectly acceptable. Someone on jere suggested o-rings with 3/8 inner dimensions, so ordered some and hopefully they fit. I was surprised how old they were so I thought Id give them a good review.

Noticed I was frequently removing the nozzle on our hose - to use the car wash sudser, spot sprinklers, or tripod sprinklers - so decided to make it a faster process. This pack got me started, then bought extra male connections for the other items, so I can quickly make the switch. No problems with leaks, although doubled up the gasket on the nozzles, an idea I got from another reviewer - the threads on the male quick connect are a bit shallow compare to the nozzle. Bought nickel for my newer aluminum end hoses and these brass for my older brass end hoses.

These certainly seem to be very high quality, and I'm very pleased that they work 100% with all my existing Gardena & Melnor Quick Connectors (which I have a lot of Gardena products). Two (2) Caveats or Tips A) If a person is connecting a GardeningWill Brass Connector to Brass Connector, a person has to pull back or partially pull back the "locking collar/sleeve" to initiate making a connection. Where if a person is connecting a GardeningWill Brass Connector to either a Gardena or Melnor plastic connector they do "snap" together by just pushing them together just like the original Gardena or Melnor Quick Connect Systems. B) Do NOT over tighten brass connections, as I have a tenancy to over tighten EVERYTHING! ;-) Just like I was used to doing with my plastic Gardena/Melnor Connectors. But with the GardeningWill Brass Connectors, all it takes is to screw them on until they are on there with resistance...then just another 1/4 to 1/3 Turn and it seals perfectly. My mistake at first (and perhaps other reviewers I'd read before I purchased) was to WAY over tighten, which made the regular garden hose flat rubber gaskets (not the o-rings) bunch up and leak. I could look in the end and see that I was mashing the rubber gaskets all out of shape. So again, brass is strong and seals with a lot less effort than the Gardena/Melnor Plastic Quick Connectors. One (1) Feature Request for GardeningWill It would be nice if a "Water Stop" Connector was offered in the 3/4" Thread - 5/8" hose size. I see that they offer it for their 1/2" Hose (as of 6/25/2000). So how did I get on my "Brass Quick Connector Quest"? Well, I've been wanting the ability to wash my car with hot water! I know, I know I'm nerding out as a crazy car/truck enthusiast! :-) So first, I put a Faucet to Garden Hose Adapter on my Garage Sink (which is next to my Hot Water Heater). Next, I bought a new Flexon FLXPR5850R Garden Hose from ZeeBooth that is capable of delivering Hot Water up to 165 Fahrenheit. Then I thought I should really have Brass Quick Connectors when using Hot Water (as I wasn't sure if my Gardena/Melnor Connectors could handle the heat). Thus, my mission, and I am so glad I found these GardeningWill Brass Quick Connectors!!! Hope that will be helpful to others! :-)

These are good hose adapters that will couple with the plastic Gardena brand couplers. However, the o-ring grooves on the male plugs appear to be a few thousandths larger in diameter and still have some cutting burrs on them. They still work together but take a little bit of additional "push" to couple together. Regardless, they are brass and won't crack with age the way the plastic ones do.
