What a clever way to help preserve a tube of caulk. These seal out the air and hold tight to the caulk nozzle. How long the caulk will stay pliable has yet to be determined. I intend to plug mine with a screw as usual, then put these "caps" overtop. At $8 for 20 Feqsky Caulk Caps they are an inexpensive way to extend the life of open caulk (of which I have several). There are a number of brands and varying prices (some less expensive) on ZeeBooth. Hard to determine which are thicker without having others in-hand. As an aside they would also make a great gag-gift at a Bachelor's party : )

Well, I suppose these could be called Caulking Tube Condoms. Or, Caulking Nozzle Condoms. Because that pretty much describes them. They fit over the tip and roll down the nozzle shafts. All in an effort to prophylactically prevent the caulk from going off . . . hardening . . . curing, that's it, curing prematurely. After a test subject rolled one of these down their pinky finger, they were impressed with the tightness and the very secure feeling the cap provided. As if it had hermetically sealed their finger. (These could be used to protect smaller fingers from exposure to whatever might require same.) Normally, I use galvanized nails for this purpose by inserting the nail into the opening and forcing it all the way in. Of, course, the nail must be large enough to fit the opening tightly. And, hopefully, long enough to reach deep into the tube in order to keep the caulk path open. At times, this method has worked for months. Stainless steel nails would work better because they shouldn't rust. But, such nails are rare/expensive. (Most caulk is water-based and that's why galvanized nails are my choice.) Once these red rubbe . . . Uh . . . caps are used up, I'll be better able to compare their effectiveness with the nails'. But, that could take quite a while. Which is especially true in this case, because, unlike their larger cousins, these little jewels might be reusable, if handled properly.
