This is a great step down grinding stone to use between a more aggressive diamond cutter and a finer grit polishing stone. I think it would wear out too fast to use as a first-line grinder on heavy welds or sharp edges, but it worked well on a recent automotive project I did that first required aggressive grinding for welds and burrs. After that step, I used this and it polished the project almost to the finish I desired. In fact, most people would have been happy with what it looked like after this stage. But I did take it to the next step with only a few minutes using a finer-grit wheel. Ive seen this style of wheel for twice this price in hardware stores. The question becomes whether Im getting what I paid for or if this will work just as well as the more expensive ones? Ill come back later and update this review!

The material quality seems to be pretty good on the grinding wheel with the female threads installed as well as they would be from any name brand. I like the size and the changing contour on the sides which seem useful if you wanted to put a light consistent rounded edge on something. It is balanced well based on the lack of any wobble, and if when I need to replace it in the future I would buy the same one again. The 200 grit is nice from the perspective of not having to smooth out small scratches later in a project from a lower grit

Great course grinding wheel for rough grinding your welds when you need to hide them for appearance Very aggressive. and soft enough to keep releasing grit to expose sharp edges. This allows for minimal heating of your workpiece and quicker grinding overall. Fits the 5/8-11 shaft of my 4 1/2 inch Bosch grinder perfectly. No undue vibration. Good choice for an economy grinding wheel for the DIY'er.
