These appear to be made of brass, not sure what the original pins were made of but the color is different. In any case, this set is so much cheaper to have on hand than a 4-pin pack from the local hardware store. Specifications seem to be the same as what is sold elsewhere but haven't replaced a pin on the snow blower with these to confirm.

Way better than the ones you gotta bend those little legs over. Now that's a pain! Here's the thing, though. These seem to break a tad easier than the original ones. But hey, that's better than them not breaking at all and messing up the whole snowblower, right? Especially after I just went through the whole ordeal of rebuilding the darn thing! And the price for this set? Can't beat it! Here's a pro tip for you all: when you put these new pins in, slather 'em good with some grease. Makes it a whole lot easier to punch out that leftover piece of the old pin stuck in the axle. Believe you me, you don't want to be out there in the dead of winter, snow and ice everywhere, trying to hammer out a rusted-on pin. You can't even get a good swing with the hammer in that tight auger housing! Been there, done that. Now I grease all my shear pins, new or old. You won't regret it!

Great price to have shear pins on-hand when I need them for my snowblower. I don't go through a lot of them, but it always seems to be a hunt to find 'em when I need 'em. I haven't done any tests to measure breaking point but these seem to work fine. Do yourself a favor though, no matter which "brand" you get, grease them when you install. It's never any fun when ya have to drill a pin out.
