Accering Fishscale Pattern Fishing Rod Grip Wrap, Heat Shrink Grip Tubing, Fishing Rod Handle Shrink Wrap (?45mm, L3.3ft, Blue)...

There are all sorts of places one could use this shrink tubing. I did a couple tests with it, and it works really well to go over the wood handle of a standard garden tool. Not only does the tubing remove the possibility of getting splinters if using a wood handle tool bare handed, the shrunk-on product is effectively non slip when the handle is wet. Indeed, the wood itself was more slippery than the shrunk on product. In that respect it would probably work quite well on the handle of a fishing rod, as advertised. Not so sure about kitchen products, not sure about its food safety, but anything wet, splintering, or similar could probably benefit. ** NOTE: Since it is a heat shrink tubing intended to react to heat, I wouldn't use it on anything intended to be used around a stove or a barbecue. I did NOT test its flammability, or the maximum heat it could withstand before it started to degrade. The product came with no instructions, which is a moderate issue if you've never used heat shrink tubing before. I have, and different products require or can withstand different temperature ranges. (Some even claim that open flame is okay. ) But again this product came with no directions, so I tested with an inexpensive Chandler Tool Heat Gun designed for basic crafting, on the 572 F setting. (That tool is on ZeeBooth somewhere.) This seemed to work quite well, as the tubing shrank with reasonable speed, but did not melt or shrink unevenly or out of control. If you don't have a heat gun, you should acquire one, because once you have efficiently used any heat shrink product you will wind up doing it again :-D Laying flat, the raw product is about 6.25 cm wide; after maximum shrinking the piece was 3 cm wide when flattened. The shrunk circle was about 2 cm diameter when measured as a circle. (The original product was hard to measure in a circle.) This product was easy to use, responded well to a craft-quality heat gun, and made the handle easier to grip when dry and MUCH easier to grip when wet. Recommended, II am likely buying more in other colors. (For example I will be applying this to some of our horse stall tools that have plenty of life but weathered and splintery handles, and color-coding tool sets as a side bonus. Don't know how well it weathers, but I have put my test piece outdoors in the direct sun, and will report back if there is any negative result there.

This heat shrink tubing actually worked really well for replacing the grips on a couple squash rackets. I was initially frustrated because there were no instructions in the bag containing the grip cover so I had to log back onto computer/ZeeBooth web site and re-read the product description. So...this cover material slips over the grip of the racket and you apply heat with a heat gun (not a hairdryer...I don't think the hairdryer would get hot enough) Even with a legit heat gun, it still took a while to effect the shrinkage. As the instructions indicate, the covering does shrink a bit in length, but primarily it shrinks in circumference (as you would expect) Of note is that the covering shrunk down nicely over the grip but where the racket tapers at the top of the grip, the covering did not (could not) shrink enough to be tight around the racket frame. I simply snipped two small slices in the extra material, pinched the material together and then used the grip tape that one would use at the top of a replacement grip wrap. (this top tape is sort of like electrical tape) This grip cover material has a nice texture that provides a good grip surface. I am unable to judge the durability in that I have only used the rackets a few times with the new grips. Certainly this shrink tube covering could be used on the handle of other items, but they would need to have a diameter of about 1 1/2". I think a 1" diameter handle might be a bit too thin, and thus this shrink tubing cover would not shrink/squeeze onto the handle to provide a secure grip that would not twist.

But using these as hockey grips is incredible. They get wet, grip stays the same, they usually outlast my sticks too. Well worth the price and one long roll can be enough for 4-5 sticks at a time. These purple fish scale design ones are so nice too, I love them. In fact, I love them so much I added them over my mountain bikes grips and theyre amazing there too! I recommend these for everything to anyone!
