I actually ordered this after I found and solved my electrical problem in my riding lawnmower. It wouldve been really nice to have this in testing every section of my electrical that I did without it. Even so, I have used it to #MIN the amount of voltage. My solar panels were producing before and after cleaning and checking a couple of random electrical connections. I have a put it to full use, but someday maybe this winter when Im bored, I will check every single connection in the house with it, and then I will hold it above my head and probably yell to the world I am charged

I have old several multimeters, including a clamp one, all of which require 9 volt batteries and are not able to check capacitance, live wires and several other capabilities that this one has. Plus, it uses just two AAA batteries (included)! I also like the autoranging feature for the measurements it takes. My only nit about the device is that the marking on the front panel for the 'hot' probe is a bit difficult to see and that the socket that you put that probe into is black - it should be orange. Recommended...

This multimeter actualy DOES work for testing DC voltage, despite of what listing description is saying, all you have to do is switch to label: "V" with straight line ne xt to it and 3 dots below the line, to test DC voltage of a battery. And it's really convenient, accurate and you don't have to fiddle around with numbers dial. You can also test if device/braker/powerstrip has electricity going trough it by selecting NCV/Live and bringing voltage-tester close to it, if there's electricity it'll beep. The clamp also allows you to test the amount of voltage in a single wire using non-contact method. However black and red wires that come with this voltage tester are not so great, when testing continuity (by touching both wires together to hear uninterrupted beep sound) the connection is not stable, the sound interupts in a second or so even when contacts are pressed firmly together, and the way I found out that it was an issue with external wires and not multi-meter itself is I tried wires from a different multi-meter and the continuity signal was solid without interruptions. Another minor dissadvantage is: to replace AA batteries, you have to unscrew the rear door of the multimeter to get to them, as a result this product gets 4 out of 5 stars.
