They're great for manual milling. Have yet to use them on CNC but I will update after. I used the 3/8" to make a deep slot in some steel tooling. Cut wonderfully and left a great finish. The documentation on these end mills is poor. The table shown here is incorrect, mostly in the flute length category. So if you are planning to use these for CNC make sure you manually measure and input your data rather than trusting the provided dimensions table. Other than that they are perfect!

Why not, the price is right, and they work well.

I had to mill down a section of my compound on my lathe to be able to accept my QCTP. I used my drill press to do the milling. Had some backyard engineering gong on with my setup on my drill press and took off 10 thou at a time but the tool cut great. Thankfully the morse taper drill chuck did not come out, but for what I did with it, it cut great and I was very happy with the end results.

I bought these to machine some mostly-solid aluminum (wink wink). The jig I bought could have been bought with end mills to do the job for about $90. I got these for a lot less money and they worked very well. Granted, cutting aluminum isn't anything, aluminum is soft. But a few days later I had a need to cut a couple of slots in some stainless steel tools. I used one of these and milled a couple of small slots in the tool with no problems. While I didn't do a lot with them, they absolutely did what I needed them to do and I have zero complaints.

Just the 1/2" bit can cost up to $50 for a high-quality end mill bit. These were a quarter the cost for an entire set and easily milled smooth countersunk screw holes in soft cast aluminum. Yes, the bits had small chips. Yes, they had some minor rust. But they worked perfectly to modify an inexpensive Bosch RA1181 router table plate to accommodate a Mikita RP1800 plunge router. It's tough to even knock a star off my rating since they did what I needed... inexpensively. The ability to get these types of DIY tools fast is where ZeeBooth shines!
