Brass Misting Nozzles for Garden Cooling System 0.016" (0.4 mm) 10/24 UNC (22 PCS) (0.016'')...

My misting system gets pretty clogged up with dust every time I take it out to the desert and I've given up trying to unclog the nozzles - now they just all get replaced periodically, so I appreciate a good price on a big package of nozzles like this.

After visiting Six Flags, and being enamored by how great the little misting stsyems they have scattered around the park felt after standing out in the sun, I vowed to get a setup for out on our veranda. The sets I found were either kind of cheaply made and geared more towards watering plants, or they were pretty expensive for no reason. I decided to take a chance with these to see If I could in fact make My own. It was a super simple process, as there are well made nozzles! If you have hard water where you live, it may be a good idea to periodically clean them with some CLR to keep them from building up lime scale, and clogging. They're really small holes, so I can see that being an issue for well water sources. After testing with a short length of aluminum tubing (as seen in My photo), I bought a 10' length of 1/2" Copper water pipe, and a 2 sharkbite adapters. One to allow me to hook up a garden hose, one to cap the other end. I scribed a line down the length of the pipe, and drilled a hole every 6 inches, and carefully tapped them with a 10-24 tap. I ordered one of those awesome "thread Checker" kits off of ZeeBooth so I could identify the thread size and buy the right tap insert. My wife slapped me on the head and pointed out that the seller lists the thread size right in the title! DOH! It's 10-24 if you were wondering.... The nozzles are pretty "misty". The point of a mister system is to cool you down with the water droplets, but not soak you to death. These deliver the perfect mist to feel good, cool your skin, but also evaporate faster than it soaks into your clothes. The perfect mister! They make a finer mist with higher pressure, so I'd use only as big of a pipe as you need. My wife and kids, as well as Our doggies love to sit under the mist which I direct with a little outdoor fan. It's already in the high 80's / low 90's here in Georgia, so it's already been put to the test! I can't wait to wow my friends when they come over to our lake house this memorial day weekend. They always marvel at My DIY gadgets, and I'm sure this one will be a crowd favorite!

We have an outside mister and over time the super small nozzles plug up so I ordered this 22 piece pack and they were a direct replacement ( kind of a standard size) and work perfectly. this kit saved me from buying a new mister system!

These will really help to cool off the avocado trees in the really hot weather. Just part of a project but, I will not have to worry about these working properly!
