I needed a small item for a gift exchange. This was a great option for a group when I didnt know everyones likes. Just in time for spring.

i purchased a tomato and marigold kit about a month ago. i planted it the same day i got it in the mail & followed all instructions to a T. i usually have no trouble getting things to grow you could say i have a excellent green thumb but this has not germinated at all!! it seems a little bit of fuzzy white mold has started to form too so i put a hole in a bottom of the pail. im not sure if this will fix the issue or not as it has been about 2 and a half weeks now. germination time on the package said 7-14 days but its been longer then that for certain. not sure if i just got a bad batch and could get a replacement sent? ZeeBooth says that i have til the 24th of this month to return but i don't have enough time on my hands to deal with mailing back.

Great results after 40 days see pic! Excellent price; perfect size. The chives are slow to grow but the others are growing wonderfully :)

THE GOOD: Buzzy generally sends good seeds, and they guarantee that they'll sprout, or you can request a free replacement from their site. The growing medium is also a good starter mix that contains a decent blend of materials (retains water nicely without getting over-soggy), as well as fertilizer to get your plants started. I had plenty of sprouts for each herb (enough that I had to thin out a lot of seedlings). The handles on the basin are functional, not just decorative, which means you can hang them from hooks or tie them up to suspend the container, e.g., from a railing. They've also switched up the packaging to make it more shipping-friendly, with the growing medium discs contained inside a bag instead of banging around loose and breaking up all over everything. THE SO-SO: The container has no drainage, making it wayyyy too easy to overwater your herbs. It is, however, very simple to add holes to the bottom. Personally, before adding the growing medium and planting the seeds, I just hammered in drainage holes with an awl (several along the middle of the bottom, and several along the edges of the bottom seam), then lined the bottom with a cut-to-fit oblong piece window screen replacement mesh to keep in the dirt from falling out. THE BAD: Unlike several other Buzzy seed kits I've used, there isn't enough growing medium to comfortably fill the entire container, making a shallow container effectively even shallower. The container is also way too small for the included plants, both in depth and in width. You can start your plants in it, but if you want them to thrive, you'll need to transplant them pretty early on to separate, larger pots.
