I had to change out shutoff valves under my daughter's kitchen sink. One was an older gate valve with some corrosion. The nut was far back on the pipe, but the adjustable depth of the tool handled it fine. When the tool handle couldn't easily turn, I was able to use a wrench on it for increased torque. In just a few minutes, the old valve was off. A few years ago, I bought a similar tool from a big box store. I never got it to work as advertised, and it was basically useless. Tip: go easy and steady, take your time. It sits in the toolbox for when the other two fill valves fail. Without this tool, I would still be working on pulling the old compression ring. Beats calling a plumber, you can do this!

This is not the kind of tool that you need every day unless you are a plumber, but honestly even if you are not this makes life so much easier. There is nothing like having your head stuck in cabinet and not being able to get the sleave pulled off to replace a leaking angle stop.I still put a little lube on the pipe, and they pull off easily. This is super quick to attach, and easy to use. It seems well built, and should last a long time.
