I have not owned one of these before so I dont have a ton of experience with them but this one fit the bill perfectly for my needs. It comes with everything you need to measure sound volume in decibels including the batteries. Does one job and does it well for a very good price. Theres nothing to dislike here it works as intended and was a great price I would absolutely recommend it.

This meter has been great. I am a supervisor whose direct reports frequently work in high-noise environments, to the point where some have expressed concerns over sustained sound exposure. This meter has allowed me to confirm that the dB level of the environment that they work in does not cross the OSHA threshold into the range where they might experience hearing damage. Even so, it has made it easier to plead their case to my superiors so that they were willing to authorize the purchase of hearing PPE so that the employees can work more comfortably and communicate easier when working in these noisy environments. As a Vine reviewer, it has also made it easier to quantify noise levels for certain products where that is a relevant detail to a potential buyer. As an added bonus, it has been useful for illustrating to my kids just how loud they are. Highly recommend.

This works amazingly well and much better than the apps on my phone. Tested within a db or so of another meter, so I feel like it is pretty accurate. Easily visible display and the controls are simple to work with. good battery life.

It's hard to believe you can get an accurate sound level meter at this price point. This Mastfuyi FY8837 works great! It is advertised with 1.5 decibel accuracy. A nearly silent room is about 30 Db. The meter comes with 2 AAA batteries an instruction booklet in several languages and a wind screen. I'm a drummer and have always wanted to know how loud a cymbal crash or a tom fill is. Now I know! No wonder I have some hearing loss after 35 years of playing. This sound level meter will come in handy for many projects. My favorite feature is that is has 3 green LEDs on the left side that stay lit up to 90Db. The right side has 3 red LED's that light up for anything 90Db and above. The hold function is also nice. If you press the A/C/MAX button will show: A-what the human ear hears C-actual loudness MAX-locks the LCD display to show the loudest a sound is. For example I placed it next to a speaker and long pressed MAX. It is holding at 117.3 Db. It will stay at this level until either I press the MAX button again or a sound registers louder than 117.3 Db. Very handy! C This meter also has a hold function that allows you to 'freeze' the display so you can document an accurate measurement. The SLOW/FAST button works great as a refresh rate. SLOW will update the display ever 1 seconds. The FAST setting will update every 125 milliseconds. There is also a built in white LED that can be turned on by pressing the HOLD button for 2 seconds. This will light up a pretty large area in a dark room. Overall this is a very accurate meter that I think will come in handy for most users.

Got this through the Vine program, I had this turned on when there was absolutely no noise in my apartment and it was reading 44 decibels, not sure if that is normal or this just doesn't work right. Never having one, there is no way for me to compare it to another one. It may be fine, when I did add noise from music or my tv, if definitely spiked the meter. I'm going to do more real world testing outdoors and will update this review
