As you would expect given the price point, this is not a heavy duty tool. But, the extended blade design makes it very useful for harvesting items such as greens and herbs. The blades cut cleanly and the longer reach makes it easier to reach into the plant (or planting area) to snip off what is needed. The blades are durable enough for light, non-woody pruning but are not suitable for more intensive pruning or cutting. The handles are hard plastic and comfortable enough for light use but the lack of non-slip inserts makes this slippy if your hands are wet. The handle clip is thin but latches into place just fine. I expect that will be the first item to break. The blades are held together with a rivet and are not adjustable. While spending more for a better quality tool is often the best option, sometimes a cheap tool such as this works out well provided you don't expect to be using it for hours at a time every day. Given the price, it provides good enough performance and value to earn five stars.

Very sharp and they fit my big fingered hands well. But as you may expect, the blades are very thin and will bend easily. I purchased these to cut monkey grass. I wound up using sturdy and sharp 10" scissors that cost about the same (around $13). The scissors were a vast improvement. I can't think of an instance where these shears would be better. That being said, these are exactly as advertised. The poor choice is my fault.

These shears work very well for fine pruning of tender grown on evergreens and small perennials. I really like these longer blades rather than the 2" and 2.5". Be aware these are not pruners for hard growth or large diameter stems and branches. Get a bypass pruner for that. One note on shears like this item: The plant sap will build up on these fine blades and will need to be cleaned often to keep from "sticking". That is true of any brand when cutting fresh, tender growth, especially evergreens.

When I received these they looked so cheaply made I thought they would be super disappointing. But no! They are sharp, slender, long reaching, lightweight, and overall terrific. I bought a second pair. They are definitely made for flowers and light foliage not shrubs but they are awesome little shears and long enough to reach the whole leaf or back behind the edge etc ... and they were so "economical" (actually quite cheap).
