I love this invention to keep bird seed from getting wet and moldy.

This reliable mineral product will keep your seed free from mold and clumping. You still need to protect from direct moisture from rain etc but high moisture in the air is absorbed by Feeder Fresh allowing for healthy bird feeders.

Please people. You've got to know birds are not okay with mold or fungus--it kills them. They "trust" our feeders , as mostly they get amazing easy food so they must be ecstatic!;-) but they let their guard down trusting also that they're clean feeders. Midwest epidemic bird numbers falling dead out if the sky--scientists directly held my okay dirty feeders that humans didn't keep clean (once per week hot water, a dab of dish soap, vinegar and or a few drops of rubbing alcohol. Use a small, CLEAN brush (toothbrushes work) to get it all nooks & crannies, RINSE WELL. THEN AIR DRY OUTSIDE IS FAST. Use these healthy for birds digestion too--naturally occurring totally nontoxic-- silica granules by putting a nice layer on bottom of feeder, and mix some into too if you want, then a small layer on top. Voila! Keeps it much dryer. If you're questioning if seed is good, dump it into newspaper and spread it out. Smell it closely musty? Toss it! If no birds eat it toss it. Keep bird bath clean too, a solar fountain keeps it cleaner by moving the water and sound also attracts TONZ OF BIRDS. remember you're doing a great thing for them. Imagine a world with no birds singing in the morning??? So sad

This product is amazing! My bird feeder got very moldy and I had no idea what to do about it. A little research later, I found this product. I cleaned out my bird feeder, let it dry and put some of the granules at the bottom of the feeder. Two cycles of food later and the feeder is still not moldy! Im thrilled that I dont have to trash my feeder. I will definitely be purchasing more of this product to keep on hand.

This works well to keep the bird feeder fresh but the goldfinch avoid the feeder unless I put a very small amount at the bottom.
