I needed to replace a thirty year old garden shovel that had served me well. The old one had a rubber coating that had worn off at the top and was uncomfortable to use. When I saw this shovel, I felt it would be a good replacement for the old one. The Shovel is longer than the old one. The handle is solid wood so I will not have an issue with the cover wearing off over time. The shovel blade is the same width but not as thick. It cuts through soil more easily and does not feel flimsy at all. The leather string allows me to hang this shovel where the old one used to be. Looking forward to many years of gardening with it.

The shovel is very nice, It has a stainless steel blade with depth markings so you can check how deep you are both in inches and centimeters. The wood handle is comfortable to hold. The shovel is well made and will not bend. Great for our patio pots. I would recommend this shovel.

Just be aware that, if you order this device, youre going to want to use it to move tiny seedling or tiny weeds; it wouldnt work for large-scale weeds, or for digging out large transplants. This hand shovel is sturdy, substantial weight tool. The metal part is stamped with the words " stainless steel", so no worries about it rusting if left outside. I would say it's mostly for digging in softer, loose dirt because the tip is rounded (not pointed). The handle is long and comfortable to hold even for a large hand. It is made from a soft feeling plastic and has gel pads for palm and finger comfort. There is a handy opening for hanging the shovel between uses.
