The media could not be loaded. I have a few of these and I like the bottom with the air flow so you're not getting any root rot. I water it from the top for this particular plant, but you have that nice bottom so it doesn't overflow And I can see through the spout area how much water went through and then that gives me idea of when I need to water it again. I like the product

I have an Orchid plant that bloomed once and is in the process of a second bloom. The pot it was in was squeezing the roots so I needed to re-pot the plant. This planter is just the right size plus it has everything I was looking for in a planter. It is sturdy but light weight. The plant does not sit in water - which is very important. I can water from the bottom of the pot so I don't need to let the plant sit in the sink to drain like I previously had to do. I'm very happy with this purchase.

I've already bought 9 of these pots. They are the best. I have never had such success growing carnivorous plants like this before. Easy to use to keep the plants at the proper moisture level all the time. Recommended for anyone growing carnivorous plants or other plants needing rigorous control over moisture requirements. Pictures: butterwort, sundew, sun pitcher- Heliamphora, Rock Tassel Fern, and venus flytrap. The last photo, not in one of these great pots, is a maindenhair fern, and I've set up my own wicking, which has been far from adequate as you can see. Going to transplant it soon to one of these pots. And as for the Heliamphora, they are extremely difficult to grow because of their constantly wet medium requirements - but I've already had three new pitchers spring up, and the plant looks great.

I transplanted a poor ZZ plant rootbound in its previous container to this self-watering pot. Self-watering was key since the previous decorative pot had a gap between the bottom of the pot and the saucer, basically making it really difficult to dole out water where my poor green friend could reach it. The Good: The pot serves its purpose well without any surprises. It's a nice lightweight design with enough heft to the plastic that it holds up to regular use. I didn't fear the cat or a child bumping the pot would tip it over, important when I've got a few pounds of soil, plant, and water in there. The base is steady and the simple design is attractive. I wish it came in more colours but the white looks great. Assembling it took seconds, and the self-watering function works wonderfully. Simply tap the self-watering bit in, and slowly water the plant. Done. I have a happier ZZ plant, no spills on the floor, and no more root binding! The Bad: The self-watering spigot flips off the pot fairly easily once it's in place. It doesn't snap down or stay strongly secured, so be careful not to dislodge it. I would have liked a better clip mechanism. The Verdict: Absolutely worth it at this price!

I am one of those guys who has managed to kill off every plant ever given to him. Bonsais, bushes, bamboo; hell, I even seem to kill succulents. So when my wife gave me a money tree for my office, I determined this one would be different. You see, I have trouble knowing how much and how often to water plants. Feeling for whether the soil is moist is beyond my capacity. On top of that, I just get busy and forget. My money tree came in a cheapo, thin plastic pot. After I gave it just a wee bit of water, I had a puddle on my desk. This self-watering pot lives up to the great reviews. I re-potted with a money tree soil I found and watered top down the first time. Following others suggestions, I mostly use the handy watering clip/spout to fill the reservoir, going top down every third or fourth watering. My money tree is doing great. Its seemingly healthy, the existing leaves are buoyant and green, and more leaves are sprouting. I promise you, its not me. Well, maybe it is me because I was smart enough to buy this pot.
