I used these for pruning flowers. A very helpful, well built and sturdy tool.

Nice padding on the handles, able to cut many sizes of branches and sharp for your many of my pruning needs. Especially at this price point.

It did it's job for what I needed done. No complaints here

The JTRSL Heavy Bypass Pruning Shears really did a wonderful job with my roses and holly. They are sharp and have a lock to keep them in the closed position. They are comfortable in my hand and make nice clean cuts. The only thing I don't like about them is that the handle. As I said, it is comfortable in my hand but what that is that makes them comfortable is like a tube that is slid over the hard handle to make it so the user has a better grip and it is comfortable. The problem with this, as shown in the photo with the Tussock Moth Caterpillar on it, is the opening on the bottom. Although I was wearing gloves, I put the clippers down on the rail so there is no chance of it getting on me. I watched as it went around the 'tube' and tried going in the end where the handle sticks out. It didn't go inside since the tube is a bit tight now that the clippers are brand new, but in time and with use this will change. If you wonder what the big deal is about some tiny caterpillar getting in the handle then you most likely never encountered one of these. Let's just say if you did touch it (or it touch you), you will be sure to never do it again between the swelling, itch, burning, and rash. So to me, this is important that any tool that has a purpose of use in places where such bugs live, should be sealed so no bugs can crawl in them. Now as I said, I wear gloves while pruning but what if I put them down to answer the phone which requires me to take my glove off to swipe. Something important happened or I just want a break so I don't finish cutting and just grab those clippers off the rail to put them away. Since I wasn't cutting, I wouldn't have put my gloves back on and out comes this (or a variety of equally uncomfortable bugs) from that tube onto my bare hand. Ouch! I love the shears, as you can see from the photo of the holly on the ground, some of it was thick, woody stems and it cut right through them with no problems, but I hate the open handle. I will be taping over the handle and bottom of it so nothing can hide inside it.
