I have wanted one of these Herb Drying Racks for a long time, so was excited to be able to order this one. When I first saw it, my thought was, This is tiny, because it came in a small carry bag. When I took it out if the bag, it had two elastic loops around it. When I took off the elastic loops, it almost flew out of my hands as it unfolded into a large 4 shelf frying rack. It has a velcro type loop at the top for hanging it. It also has an S hook and a carabiner, to aid in hanging it. Each section of the drying rack has a zipper closure. They were zipped closed, but the zipper was not at either end of the zipper, but in the middle. I was able to zip them to the left all the way, then unzip them to the right. They worked perfectly, although they are lightweight zippers. The drying area has ventilation on all sides, for quick drying and it is a nice large area to dry lots of herbs. I plan to also dry seeds, but I will have to put something under them, so the small seeds dont fall through the mesh screen under them. It is a little larger than I thought, but it can be hung from a shower rod, clothesline, or from a nail, in my greenhouse. So far, I like it. It also came with some small snippers for cutting your herbs. They arent the best, but a nice extra.

This came in a really small bundle, like an 8 inch disk by 1 inch thick. I thought how big can it be, but after taking off the two elastic bands and untwisting it, this thing popped open like a jack in the box with such force that my hands stung. It has quite some strong spring steel for the loop and the entire thing is actually pretty huge when expanded. Each layer is big and well suspended with individual rings around the circumference. They have a small zippered door on one side to make it easy to take things in and out without affecting other layers by unzipping too much of a layer. It has a velcro loop on top, and two types of hanging attachments so it can be hung on a variety of poles or eye hooks. The black mesh is a bit dense, so while it prevents most insects, it also blocks a considerable amount of light for direct heating. It does work though for air drying quite well, and as long as you place it in full sun it can also quickly sun dry things. The included accessories are a bit random but nice to have to. It has one of those funky digging gloves if you're into gardening and the pruning shears are nice and thin headed for precise snipping when I prepare things I'm drying. It dries cabbage, peppers, and various herbs and flowers quite well.

I like this drying rack very much. It is a welcome relief to use this over a dehydrator in July. I have the 4 layer one and it is huge. You can fit a LOT of herbs in it. Currently I have it filled with a plethora of dill in a room with a ceiling fan. It is doing double duty as an air freshener. :D One quirk that I noticed is the zipper pull (that you grab to slide it) is halfway in the middle of the zipper instead of being on one end or the other. Some people might panic as when you start to use the zipper, it will open in one direction & close in the other while being in the middle of the zipper. All you have to do is slide the zipper in the direction that closes it, which for me was to the left. Once all the way on the left side, you can then slide the zipper to the right and it will open normally. Just be careful to do it gently as the zippers are plastic and are small so they will not take much, if any, abuse.
