Purchased to mend my expandable hose that was leaking at the faucet end. Fittings worked well on my hose fix, both ends. Not so much the hose clamps. Wouldn't tighten.

The female fittings do not work. No matter what I tried they leak profusely

Full disclosure I received this product through ZeeBooth Vine. However, I will do my best to provide a thorough, unbiased and accurate and informative review, regardless of whether I purchased the product outright or received the product through the Vine program. A recent mishap with a mower in an area with tall weeds resulted in shredded hose end. Fortunately, I knew replacement fittings were available, but have had bad luck with the cheap plastic ones (threads strip too easily). I wanted to go with brass this time and found this set and ordered. Delivery was fast and the tiny box contained both male and female fittings, a hose washer and two stainless steel hose clamps which meant potentially salvaging two hoses. I cut the mangled end of the hose perfect straight using metal snips. I initially struggled with getting the fitting inside the hose, but using a heat gun on low heat, I was able to soften up the hose. I also used a dab of dish washing soap and was able to get the fitting installed. I tightened the included hose clamp and pressure tested the hose. No leaks and I salvaged about 65 feet of a 75 foot hose. This was a huge savings over tossing the hose and buying a new hose for ~$70. Bonus is that I have a female fitting and parts readily available if I need them. Suggestion for those considering a hose repair - measure the inside diameter of the hose when looking for fittings. Depending on the materials used for the hose the exterior size can be deceptively larger than the exterior of the hose. Also, inch verses 5/8 inch may seem like a negligible difference, but most hoses are fairly inflexible. Additionally, if you purchased the correct diameter but are struggling to get the fitting inserted, try dish soap on the fitting and inside hose. If all else fails, you may be able to soften the material with a hair dryer or heat gun to make it more malleable long enough to get the new fitting in place.

This item was for a new expandable hose we bought from Costco but my husband managed to break. The male end came off. This fixed it up perfectly and was easy to install.
