This is a really good bit. It's sharp and very sturdy. I don't have to worry about it breaking while I'm using it. It seems to be universal, so it should fit into any drill that accepts bits.

I find nothing special about this drill bit other than it has been rebranded specifically to work with snow plow stakes. The bit has a quad-carbide head, which is a good head, that is 3/8" wide. 400 Series Stainless Steel is magnetic, and I confirmed that shaft material is magnetic. It claims to be a 12" drill bit, but that is the overall length. The actual spiral section is 9.5" long and you may be able to drill a hole 10" deep if you don't mind pushing your expensive drill into the ground. Overall this will work, but it may be overkill, especially in areas with soft dirt. However if you hit a rock with this and you are using a SDS Plus Hammer Drill, then that rock is about to have a bad day as you will punch right through it. I live in Wisconsin and every year I struggle to install my driveway markers because I always end up trying to do it after everything is frozen. Not this year. Using this drill bit with a hammer drill makes it quite easy to do when the ground is frozen. I highly recommend this drill bit

I live in the upper Midwest. This drill bit is a great idea. I tested the drill bit in my frozen yard to install seasonal decorative signs for the better half. I also tested a spot at the end of my driveway where there is compacted gravel next to my driveway, in order to install a driveway marker. The bit breezed through the frozen dirt and gravel. I highly recommend this product.
