Needed to replace some light fixtures stakes that are frequently broken by the lawn mower, and this plastic spike is almost exactly the same replacement than the original one that came with the light fixtures and at significant reduced value per unit. I like that this product is an improved version: the threaded head has a notch that allows to pass the cord cable without requiring to disconnect the fixtures cord, a little detail that significantly reduce the chore to replace broken stakes from already installed lighting fixtures. Clever design! Also, I personally prefer to use plastic stakes for the landscape lighting instead of metal ones, as over time the metallic spikes will rust badly and stick with the metal thread of the lamps base, making very hard and sometimes impossible to separate if you need to replace a broken stake. The other benefit of using plastic, is that in the event that a lighting fixture is stuck (usually by the lawn mower or somebody) something has to give-up, absorb the impact by breaking, which I found out that plastic stakes will be the ones to sacrifice and break -instead of the expensive lighting fixture-, which are easier -and a lot cheaper- to replace. My advice? Always use plastic stakes -if not for all, at least for those spots that are near or in the areas required to be mowed-, to affix your typical landscape lighting fixtures. Overall, an excellent and cost-effective alternative to affix landscape lights. Recommended. (Reviewed by Handyman)

These stakes are a lot larger and better quality than I was expecting. There were 5 of them and they are very strong and sturdy. When I put them in the ground they are secure. I would definitely get these again as the quality is great.

These are OK to use but not what I was expecting, wider than what I needed. If my ground is wet these go into my yard with no problems. But this summer has been very dry and hot. I have very hard clay yard with a few rocks into the mix covered by grass, so it is deceiving. My yard is like a well baked brick. I tried to put the first one in the ground and it broke. I had to water the area extensively to finally be able to place these.
