This avocado pit starter vase has about the same footprint as a regular vase, or a wine carafe. It has clear, thin glass walls that look pretty on the counter. This could also be used to start garlic growing, or to keep an onion growing while you harvest the tops. You could use it as a regular vase for one flower like a sunflower, that needs more support on the bottom so it doesnt tip over. This is really pretty on the countertop, easy to wash, and fills the niche very well of sprouting avocado pits, so that you dont have to suspend them from toothpicks over a glass. I have used this to grow two avocado pits into small trees large enough to plant outside. I recommend this for anyone who wants to show a younger gardener how to propagate bulbs, or someone who likes fresh onion greens, garlic greens, or to sprout avocados.

It works! Let me tell you, I grew up in an area where avocado trees flourish, and I've never been able to get a seed going. Didn't matter what I tried, how I did it, eventually it would just sort of die off. I have had trees survive just fine, but never able to start one from the pit. I saw this and thought, eh, why not. I soaked the pit for about a week, because my mom said so, and then put it in this thing. I stuck it on the kitchen counter near a window that gets plenty of light, but not direct light, and fully expected it to be mush in a couple days. The pit split and I have a little baby plant with roots and everything, within a week! I need another so I can grow him a friend, but this is the only thing I've tried that's actually worked, at most I get the pit to split and consider sending a shoot, but most often not. If you've been struggling to get a pit to take, give this a shot. I'll be using it to do cuttings once I get an avocado farm going.
