Created a water hammer every time

Set up isn't the most straight forward, but it is doable. Battery compartment appeared to be weather tight, but this timer would not work for me. I am on well water so maybe that caused the issue, but any time water was scheduled to flow, there would be an incredibly loud water hammer like noise created at the timer. It was almost as if the water pressure wasn't strong enough to keep the timer's valve open. For me, this product did not work so I am forced to give it one star.

makes watering so much easier

This is the second watering timer I have ordered. This one was about half the price of the first one and is much better. The first one I ordered had a plastic swivel coupler that connected to the hose bib. This coupler leaked like a sieve. The more I tried to tighten it the worse it leaked. This one has a brass coupler that seals well. I put in the two AA batteries and programming it was very simple. I didn't even have to read the manual. I've been using it for a couple days now and it starts my garden sprinkler right on schedule and I don't have to worry about forgetting to water.

Convenient

Im doing drip irrigation and this helps with to schedule the watering without the need to go outside every time. I forgot the washer so it leaks on the first installation. Be sure you put rubber washer to avoid leakage.

Water Timers Are Not Inexpensive, but ......

Water Timer's might be expensive, but the time savings is worth it. Time is money. I like this MOES Sprinkler Timer because of the sturdy brass inlet valve. Water Timer inlet valves are under a lot of stress, especially if you might have multiple hose water directors attached like I do. The weight can cause many plastic timers to crack and leak. This MOES Sprinkler Timer has a brass inlet valve which is much sturdier than typical plastic timers. This MOES Sprinkler Timer can accommodate both manual and automatic operation - uses very little power thus minimizing needs to replace batteries. Easy-to-read digital readout and responsive buttons. The "rain delay" function might be attractive for some buyers - but not me, it only rains every once-in-a-while where I live. But when it rains, it pours. But regardless of where you live - other than downtown NYC, automatic watering systems are a must.

works but tricky to program

We are using this sprinkler timer for our container garden's drip irrigation system. It works well without any leaking. It has gotten wet and shows no sign of damage to the internal components. The LCD display gets direct sun exposure and has not faded. The timer offers lots of flexibility in watering times and frequency but requires you to set multiple programs in order to water more than once a day (P1, P2, P3). In each program you can set a watering time at a specific time of day and a frequency (daily, every other day, specific days of the week, etc). You are also able to manually initiate a watering cycle. It is not entirely plug and play and may require you spending a moment reading through the manual to get it set up. Accessing each program requires cycling though each parameter then togging to each program, which I find a little unintuitive. Overall it works and is a good value but could be a little simpler to use.
