I have a mixed mess of plant pots around the house I've collected from yard sales, rescued from the side of the road, or found at thrift stores. Naturally, they rarely have watering trays accompanying them. Thus, I water nearly all of my plants in the sink. This usually isn't a big deal, more of a minor annoyance and time consumer. However, when it comes to larger plants and pots, the more soil inside means the longer it takes to ensure there won't be any more water draining from the pot. Easy to judge with a 4-6 inch pot, not so much with a 3-5 gallon one. Enter these risers. What fantastic little gadgets. I literally tilt my plant pot, slide a riser underneath in thirds around the bottom circumference, tilt the pot back down, and we're good to go. Now my pot is nearly an inch off the ground, meaning it won't be trapping moisture on our landlords fake wood flooring, which warps like crazy. I haven't even used the watering wick yet and I'm already so sold on these I ordered another set for my outdoor plants and pots to get them off direct sustained contact with the patio. Incredibly easy to use, super durable and surely weather resistant. 10/10 would absolutely recommend.

These are just what I needed for my patio pots. Last summer, a few of my larger plants died because their drainage holes became clogged with dirt and debris that collected under the pot. I couldn't see underneath and these pots are quite large and heavy to pick up and move around, so I didn't realize they were clogged until it was too late and the plants had died. I ended up replanting the pots and raising them up off the ground with some scrap brick pieces my husband had leftover from a project, but the brick pieces are fairly ugly looking and also are not uniform in size, so the pots weren't quite level. These pot risers perfectly solve the issue as they hold my pots just the right amount of space up off the ground, they are level, and their design makes them inconspicuous so they aren't really noticed (their color resembles terra cotta, so that helps as well). They are made of very strong plastic; I am not sure what to call this type of plastic but we have an outdoor Adirondack chair and an outdoor rocking chair made out of this same material, and it is very strong and stands up to the weather beautifully. I chose the large size since my pots that need better drainage are large pots. The large size comes in a set of 12, so I can raise up 3 pots if I use 4 risers per pot, or 4 pots if I use 3 risers per pot. Overall, these are neat little plant helpers that allow me to prevent my pots' drainage holes from becoming clogged, raise the pots off the groud just enough to allow airflow as well, and also allow just enough room that I can spray a stream of water underneath the pots to keep the area clear of debris. They are very strong and look nice.

I wish these were a bit more attractive; they are very utilitarian and only come in one color. But they do the work they're meant to do, and I love that they come with wick cord I can use in a variety of ways. It would be nice if they were a LITTLE taller, but again, they do what they're supposed to do. Only time will tell whether this plastic is durable enough to resist cracking as it ages.
