I really like this epoxy putty and have found a TON of different things to use it on. But I have a few issues with it too... It is very easy to break off a piece from the stick. I appreciate that you don't have to worry about measuring out equal parts. I realize that epoxy isn't going to smell like roses, but this definitely has a strange, foul odor- almost like old rotting fish guts. MAKE SURE you wear gloves when mixing! Speaking of mixing, this is kind of hard/crumbly when you first start mixing it together. You really have to work with it, a lot, to keep it from crumbling. As soon as I can, I prefer the long snake and twist method for mixing. It takes several minutes to mix. If you are using this outside, and it's hot out, it's going to cure pretty fast, so you have to work quick! In my experience, this has a strange reaction when in/under water. It gets a wet 'slip' to it, which reminds me of wet play dough a little bit. It still cures in/under water just fine, but I don't know where that watery 'slip' goes. This cures pretty quick, both in and out of the water. The hold is 100% water tight! I used this for a leaky pool pipe and there isn't a single drip or even bead of sweat. This does cure a medium- medium dark gray but you can paint it (I've used spray paint and acrylic) and the paint holds well. Endless uses for this stuff! Overall, I really do like how useful and effective this is. I think it is a very valuable thing to have around the house.

I have used pool putty before and this is similar but it is quite a bit stiffer than what I have used previously. What I mean is that the outside material is dry and crumbly and it takes quite an effort to knead it into the inner material. The other thing that is different is that this putty is grey rather than off-white like other brands. The dark color means you probably dont want to use this on a light colored material. Other than those two differences it is pretty much the same - good adhesion, quick cure time and very hard when cured.

I've been using this putty for years. Its so versatile and easy to utilize. Just pull a plug of putty loose and knead it between your fingers till the putty and the core are well mixed, then apply it to whatever surface needs fixing. It will strongly adhere to whatever it sticks to and cures to a hard, cement-like finish. The fact that its waterproof means it can be applied underwater to cracked enamel tiles or to fill in gaps in the grout of your pool wall. I've even repaired sprinklers and garden tool handles. I'll be using this on the cracked patio tile on the front porch. So much easier than mixing up the goo that epoxy glue usually comes as. Convenient and strong!

This looks like it will work well! We have not yet had to use it, so I will update if that happens. I prefer to be prepared. I can say that its not at all dried out, which was a concern since it is so hot. It came in two little tubes. I think it will work well. It does have the consistency of putty, mostly. I am excited to have this on hand, just in case.
