These pruning shears cut small branches and flower stems very easily with one cut. On thicker branches, after the first cut into the branch is made, the ratchet automatically moves to the second notch to help you make a second cut into the branch easily. Its heard to explain, but in use it makes a lot of sense and makes it easier to cut thicker branches. I like it.

These clippers are great until you start getting to their max opening then they get a little tricky to clip.

The initial cut is made, then release and follow through with full grip strength. They made quick work of some thicker branches hanging over my sidewalk. They easily cut larger diameter branches than expected, because of the ratcheting mechanism. Very happy with these sharp pruning shears and would order again.

I am pleasantly surprised how well these pruning shears work. When I received it, I was skeptical. Although it is metal, it seems light and flimsy. It did not feel solid in my hand. I put the shears to work today. I trimmed several smaller tree branches hanging over my back lawn. I probably cut several branches at least inch thick, maybe thicker. This thing cut right through with no problem. I have not used it for my delicate pruning of flowers or small shrubs yet, but I am sure it is up to the task.
