I have used this pot for pon and leca. I like that it is clear and easy to see the water level and state, however; it is difficult to get the inner pot out of the outer pot. There is a minimal lip holding the inner pot on the outer, and in order to drain the water or clean the outer pot Ive had to use a knife to remove the inner pot. Also, due to the rounded shape of the inner pot, you have to have the entire container at eye level to accurately gauge if the bottom of the inner pot is submerged. I would give this a 3/5.

I got these for my African violets as they tend to do very well when in pots like these with a steady reservoir of water to draw from. These pots look like a cute idea in theory so I ordered them. They are pretty much as pictured - I got one smaller pot and one larger one along with 3 strings/wicks to place inside. There weren't any instructions included but it's relatively self-explanatory, just stick the wick through the holes in the inner pot and have the ends sit on the bottom of the outer pot. I'm not sure why I got 3 wicks and I assume one is extra. The quality is ok- the plastic isn't super thin but it could be a little sturdier. The inner pot requires a little bit of finagling to get it to sit in the outer pot correctly. I wish there was some sort of opening to easily add more water without having to lift the inner pot every single time. As another user mentioned, while the clear crystal gives an easy indication of water level, in practice the water does get brown since it's exposed to the soil of the plant. Since ceramic/terra Cotta African violet pots are very expensive, this offers a much more inexpensive way to provide these plants with consistent watering.

This set of pots will help you offset some of the time you spend weekly watering plants. This may be your first foray into hydroponics systems, but don't despair because a wick system is what I would recommend to anyone new to hydroponics. Simply fill the inner pot with high quality soil, pull the wick through the holes in the bottom, and water the clear "crystal" portion that contains the inner white pot. The water saturates the wick and travels up into the soil. The plant can drink water as it needs! Once you see how well plants do with a system like this you will want to try other hydroponic methods. Great value as well. I'd love to see actual glass versions of these.

I have had many different types and styles of self watering plants, and I love these ones the most so far. I love the design of the outer pot, and especially because it's transparent, you can easily see if you need to water again. The transparency doesn't take away from the beauty of the pot either! It's almost has a stained glass look without the color of stained glass!
