Shepherd Hardware 9353 1-5/8-Inch Office Chair Plate Caster, Bright Brass Hooded Ball, 2-Pack...

I had a cabinet that I installed casters on a long time ago, and in the shuffle of life they got lost. I measured the caster receivers with a drill bit and searched the size, found these, and voila! The packaging was in really rough shape and one almost came out of the shipping bag, but that's not an issue as they are installed and look like they will last long enough for me!

These castors appear to be exactly what I needed, they are well made and glide easily, but not too easily. It took me a long time to find these, the chair I have has 3/8" stem casters (also fit ikea chairs) and everything else I looked for would have raised my chair by an inch which would not have worked for me. The stems are a hair smaller than the stems of original castors I replaced but don't really wobble or fall out so it should be fine. The packaging is awful, plastic covering welded to a cardboard back and every single one of the five had broken plastic. It would be MUCH better if they were loose or just tied to a cardboard backing.

Appearance was as expected. Very sturdy and supporting my 270# husband just fine. It was difficult to drill the receiving channels into the chair legs. But that was only the fault of the legs themselves, as they were made of VERY dense/hard MDF. But once we went the graduated drill bit approach and got the holes deep enough for the pegs, they slid in just fine. We love the mobility and 2" elevation these give our chairs as the game table they sit at is abnormally tall. Very pleased, although the fulfillment on this order was confusing and I thought parts of the order had been lost in shipment. The 8 casters came in 4 different shipments: first just 1, then 3 came, some time later 2 more arrived, and the last 2 finally made it! As ZeeBooth is usually so fast on delivery, I figured it was supply issues and hoped the remaining items were not "lost in the Christmas shuffle". But finally the 8th caster arrived and I'm most pleased the internal tracking at your end to complete entire order was indeed thorough. Thank you so much.

These wheels were perfect for a desk remodel. So much easy than trying to clean and paint the old wheels.
