It's a sturdy plastic that won't break from it's own weight. I might be able to make it shatter by slamming it against a hard table, but that's just being reckless. Numbers might be small, but it's better than paint that rubs off. Would I trust it with strong acids? Probably most, but some might stain. Would I trust it with solvents? Not anything more than alcohols and mineral oils. But you know, I bought this for measuring nutrient broths, as I was getting tired of breaking glassware in the kitchen sink. And I got exactly what I was expecting.

I had a bigger GC for taking hydrometer readings for my homemade wine and mead, but I was having to transfer SO much liquid into it that it took forever. This one I can fill with just a couple of turkey basters full of liquid, but it is plenty tall for the hydrometer to have room to submerge fully.

Perfect for home brewing use with a hydrometer. Not too big that you wind up wasting a large amount of beer, not so small that the hydrometer keeps touching the walls and messing up your readings. All in all, this is a great tool in the brewery and it is rugged so I don't have to worry about it shattering if I drop it. Easy to see through, easy to fill, easy to clean.

Got this for daughter's school science project. No worries about breaking since its plastic. I chose this one since it is big and tall, 1 liter capacity. It was used for experiment to measure viscosity of different liquids by timing a marble falling through the liquid - that required a tall but skinny container.

Nothing special about this product. If you have children and are trying to get them into chemistry, or expose them to the metric system this would be a great tool. Also super useful in the kitchen. The high density polyethylene these are made out of is resistant and sturdy. Decent purchase.
