In order to extend the life of your salt system you must clean your salt cell to rid it of the calcium deposits it contains. The Swimables Acid Washing Kit is designed to be compatible with the IC15, IC20, IC40 and IC60 salt cells. Clean Every 3 Months: Most turbo cells should be inspected and cleaned after 3 months of operation or after every 500 hours of us. Additionally, the time period between cleanings also has to do with your water chemistry as well. The better balance your water is, the less you have to clean your cell!
Salt Cell Cleaning Instructions 1. Turn off the power and deactivate the pump. 2. Hose the calcium deposits off with a high pressure hose if the deposits are large and apparent. 4. Mix a 4:1 solution of water to muriatic acid in a clean plastic container. *IMPORTANT: MAKE SURE TO ALWAYS ADD ACID TO WATER NOT WATER TO ACID*
Salt Cell Cleaning Instructions Continued: 5. Tighten the salt cell to the Swimables Acid Cleaning Kit with the cord side down, then proceed to fill the salt cell with the solution you had concocted and allow it to soak for 15 minutes. Keep repeating the process until the salt cell is clean. 6. Install your salt cell inline and press and hold the button stated "Diagnostic" for approximately three seconds. This will lead to the flashing "Inspect Cell" light to turn off.
