Belt Clip not compatible with OLD OLD Original Thermacell

I have been using Thermacell since it first came out, they work great. But if you have the old old original Thermacell (which is still working great) double check if it has slots in the back just above the fuel site long window, because if you are planning on using the actual belt clip it will not clip in. Otherwise I found a way around that for what I am going to be using it for so not a big deal.

Worth the money

The belt clip and case are great make it so the thermocelll is packed up and kept clean until you need it.

Handy To Have

It's great to have it when you're trying to garden and mosquitoes are attacking you from all sides! I just wish that it could be in-use while attached to your belt and in the case, rather than the unit itself having to be out of the case and laying on a table, etc. while in-use. Yes, it's portable, but I thought it could be turned on while I'm hiking in the woods. If someone owns and uses the Thermacell unit itself and if what I'm saying isn't correct, PLEASE correct me! If I AM correct, I wish that Thermacell would come up with a case that would allow for use while moving about.

Does its job

If you have an old school style ThermaCELL, this holster can give you the option of hanging it from a belt (or the back of a chair, etc) in order to maximize the coverage area and not worry about it. It has a nice, snug fit over the unit and I like that there is a side pouch for an extra fuel cell. However, it has two major (and related) flaws that make it less user friendly than it should be. The first is that the belt clip is tricky to install. You actually have to put the holster on the unit , then install the clip. The fabric strip of the holster actually goes between the ends of the spring clip (photo 1). I also had difficulty seating the "runners" of the clip into the slots on the back of the ThermaCELL and getting it to click into place. What worked for me was putting pressure on the spring part to partially open the clip to seat the runners and start sliding the clip up, then releasing the spring to slide the clip up the last little bit and click into place. The second issue (and pic 2) is that you have to completely remove the unit from the holster to change the fuel cartridge. IMO, instead of putting a Velcro flap to cover the clip (WHY?), the manufacturer should have placed a Velcro flap on the bottom for easy access to the fuel cartridge. Although it's kind of a pain, it is not a deal breaker and I hope things will become smoother with use.
