Haven't used it yet, but have opened and examined it. Certainly seems durable enough to do the job intended. We recently had a mouse in our house. EECK! And not other method available except for the conventional spring trap. Hated doing it but even more hate mice in the house. Highly recommend this as an alternative. Hope we never need it again.
Set a trap the first day I recieved these and actually caught TWO mice the same night on the same pad! We live in the country surrounded by fields & just have mice, no matter how hard I try or how clean we keep our home. So I immediately set a new trap and within hours, I had caught yet another nasty little mouse! Everytime I set a trap, I would have a mouse that very night. I tried a cheaper version and realized just how great TomCat products are! The competition did not work at all!! This kind is easy to set up, just open and place. It works with no bait at all, its probated and attracts mice just as is! And its very adhesive and holds the mouse in place on the first go. Ive just ordered my 2nd pack!!
I have used many of these and found them to be very effective. The far end comes loose and can easily be used with a swipe of peanut butter or a little piece of cookie or cheese or whatever. The mouse teeters the trap door closed behind him. Peaceful and not risky to the mouse. Using this trap, weve captured many mice over the years-which I think is because it is silent and just looks like a little tunnel. The door catches so it isnt easy to just swing back open. Easy to move them far away from the house. Also convenient to clean and reuse.
This Tomcat Live Catch Mouse Trap trapped several mice. It seems the mice cannot resist it. After having many trees cut down in my yard and the stumps ground down, I was overrun by mice in my house. I hate mice with a passion. Every night when the sun went down, a mouse would get trapped inside. I would take the trap to the park across the street and empty it, hoping the mouse would not find it's way back. Every hour I would catch another mouse. Sometimes it is hard to empty the trap because the mice are afraid to leave or they wanted to continue eating the peanut butter. I had put this trap in the bathroom where I had seen the first mouse. Mice leave a trail of urine and feces wherever they go, which seems to draw more mice along that same trail. I did not wash my bathroom floor until I stopped catching mice. The trap is still in my bathroom and I have not caught a mouse for over a year. One hint: if you have a postage scale, weigh the trap empty. Then, if the sensitive door on the trap becomes closed, weigh it again. That will tell you whether there is a mouse inside. Mice may be very light and do not always move very much. You don't want to open the trap inside and give the mouse the ability to escape. I used JIF crunchy peanut butter in the trap, mice seem to like it as much as I do! If that is not available, Kroger crunchy peanut butter works well. Maybe any peanut butter or nuts work well, use what you like. When the single live catch and release became too much trouble, I bought a Flip N Slide Bucket Lid Mouse Trap. It can be used as a live trap or lethal when filled with water. It can catch many mice in a very short period of time. Again I used chunky peanut butter but I added some sunflower seeds to the peanut butter. I put this in the basement as I thought that is where the mice may be getting in. It filled up quickly with mice. I was completely disgusted and happy at the same time. As the weather gets colder again, I will make sure my traps (and myself) have fresh peanut butter. I will also buy another Flip N Slide Bucket Lid Mouse Trap for my detached garage. I don't want mice taking shelter in my car and destroying the upholstery and wiring. The Tomcat Live Catch Mouse Trap is the best mouse trap I have ever had for use in a living area. The Flip N Slide Bucket Lid Mouse Trap is the best for basements, garages, and sheds. Mice don't need to destroy your quality of life!
